Abu Dhabi: The World’s Safest City
Abu Dhabi has topped the list of the world's safest cities for the ninth consecutive year. Compiled by the online database Numbeo, the capital's ranking reflects its ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life for citizens, residents, and visitors, according to state news agency WAM.
The UAE is strongly represented in the top 10, with Dubai ranked fourth, Sharjah fifth, Ras Al Khaimah sixth, and Ajman seventh. Numbeo evaluated 382 cities in 2025, based on comprehensive safety metrics such as security measures, community policing initiatives, and emergency response capabilities.
Safety scores are calculated from public surveys completed on the Numbeo website and take into account crime rates in the cities. Abu Dhabi achieved a safety score of 88.4 out of 100, while Dubai and Sharjah each scored 83.8.
Efforts by Abu Dhabi Police to promote safety and security in the city, while fostering community trust, have significantly contributed to its recognition. This reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a preferred destination for studying, working, and living.

Dubai: Cleanest City in the World for the Fifth Consecutive Year
Dubai has once again been recognized as the cleanest city in the world, according to the Global Power City Index (GPCI) issued by the Institute for Urban Strategies at the Mori Memorial Foundation in Japan.
This prestigious title, awarded for the fifth consecutive year, highlights Dubai's commitment to sustainable urban development and its adherence to the highest international standards of living and environmental excellence.
Dubai outperformed 47 other cities globally, achieving a 100% satisfaction score in the “cleanliness” metric under the environmental pillar of the GPCI. This accomplishment reflects the dedicated efforts of Dubai Municipality in collaboration with government and private partners to implement the Dubai Integrated Waste Management Strategy 2041, targeting an 18% reduction in waste production and 100% diversion of waste from landfills by 2041.
